Who Knows Two?

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Here’s a pair of Israelis I’d like you to meet, even in death: Yehezkel Ramzarkar, and David Rabinowitz. They’re the kind of wonderful Israelis who never make news until they are the news. I’m sure that no one is going to write a play about them, like the anti-Semitic, pro-Palestinian “Seven Jewish Children.” It’s doubtful that anyone outside Israel will ever know their names, or the names of their orphans. But during Yehezkel and David’s Shloshim, Route 17 is shadowing Israel’s Route 90 through the Jordan Valley, where Yehezkel and David stopped to help a car with a flat, and a driver with a gun.
